Recently, I received an interesting question about acne from one of my subscribers. I appreciate her willingness to share her struggle because it is a skin care issue that I know many people are struggling with as well. Here is her question: For many years now, I have been dealing with acne and despite all my efforts to heal emotionally/physically/spiritually, it has not yet fully gone away. I know there is still a piece of the puzzle missing since obviously I am doing something wrong to experience this in my 30's. Can you address this issue in the near future in either your videos or articles? I really would love to have your perspective on it.
Many thanks and with much gratitude,
It is a common misconception that acne affects only teenagers, when in fact, adults are suffering with acneic skin conditions more than ever before. The current information available on the causes and treatment for acne is often misleading and incomplete – which creates a great deal of frustration and unnecessary shame.
Many people experience some facial acne, which very often (at least in part), can be attributed to hormonal fluctuations that trigger excess sebum (oil) which is a primary factor in the development acne. One of the most common reasons for this is chronic stress. The heightened levels of stress that we are constantly experiencing today keeps our adrenals on over- drive, setting the stage for excess oil production and acne. If you have acne lesions appearing on your neck and chest, then it is very likely that you are under a great deal of stress. You should take some immediate steps to support your adrenals and reduce your stress level as much as possible.
